Hi guys, this is Nick Pratt, welcome to another episode of Nick Pratt TV.

In this episode, I am going to talk about the power of content marketing. I’m going to give you some tips for getting started with it as well, so stay tuned – this is going to be a good one!

I want to talk about content marketing. I’m sure that you hear the name kind of branded around all the time about content marketing, producing great content, all that sort of stuff.

I’m going to really explain why it’s necessary for you if you’re in home business, affiliate marketing, network marketing, direct sales, whatever, and why with any business it’s necessary to engage in content marketing.

This is how it goes.

Over the past, let’s just say 10 – 15 years, as the internet has grown, the way society has gone is that people are less likely to go and buy stuff or sign up for anything unless they really know, like and trust whoever or whatever they’re joining.

The-Power-Of-Content-Marketing-Image-Post-2To be honest, this has always been the case, but it has changed over time, and people are more and more resistant to advertising. For example, TV advertising, and there’s ways of ignoring advertising, there’s banner blindness, there’s all this sort of stuff. This is why content marketing is huge.

First of all, what is content marketing? Content is what you’re watching right now, it’s a YouTube video, it’s anything kind of video, a video blog post. This is a video on my website, so people will see this through the search engines, they’ll see me through Google, YouTube, Facebook, wherever I decide to put this content, people will see it.

The whole point is leading with value. You’re leading with free information, how to information. Obviously, one of the reasons I do that is because it shows that I’m an authority. I also show my own resources on my website and things like that. This is how I get to know people, this is how I attract people to me who are the right kinds of people, because the chances are you’re watching this because you’ve done a search, no or in the past, or you’re on my mailing list, but the point is I know that you’re a good person for me to talk to. You’ve requested something in the search engine, and people who do that want something more. That’s why it’s a great idea for me to use content to attract people to me.

You want to be speaking to the people who are qualified and interested in what you provide. I provide training for network markers affiliate marketers, internet marketers. Training for their opportunity or some of them will decide to join my opportunity as well, which is great.

In terms of how you can get started, one example is to just shoot simple videos like this. A quick five minute video teaching something that you’ve learned. If you think to yourself “what do I talk about?” that’s actually quite a good indicator that if you can’t think of things to talk about, you’re not learning enough. Really, as long as you’re reading book on network marketing, affiliate marketing, internet marketing, or whatever business you’re in and you’re learning things, or learning personal development things, you can go and teach that through your content and attract people to you.

One example is to find a book on your bookshelf that teaches something and make a quick video out of it. The more videos that you have, the more content you have out there generating you traffic, leads, sales, is very, very powerful.

I was talking to one of my team members about this today. It’s fantastic for generating leads, and it’s also fantastic for converting leads. What I love about it is it covers both and it helps attract people to you, but it also helps convert people, convert leads in your audience, because people will reach out to you.

The final thing is to always leave a call to action in your content. This could be to reach out to you, to opt into whatever you’re providing, it could be to add you to Facebook, it could be all sorts of things, and you’ll see that I am going to include of course actions at the end of this video as well. It’s absolutely important to do that.

It’s a very, very secure way of building your business, because you’re getting the highest quality people. If you go for some traffic sources like solo ads for example, it can tend to be very low quality. You can get the leads and you can get the traffic in, but just not great quality leads, where as if you’re watching this video, you’re obviously a good quality person, because you’ve come through Google or something like that, and you’re trying to get help building your business, so that’s how fantastic that is.
