Hi guys, welcome to another episode of Nick Pratt TV.
In this episode, I want to talk about the danger of having the wrong expectations in home business, whether that’s network marketing, affiliate marketing, internet marketing, whatever.
Stay tuned, I’m sure you’ll get a lot of value from this.
Let’s talk about this problem of having the wrong expectations within this niche, home business. It could be network marketing, affiliate marketing, whatever. I see a lot of people who get involved in this industry, and they seem to kind of think it’s an easy in, easy out sort of mentality. They think to themselves, “Well, it cost me $200 to get started with this business opportunity, and I’ll try it out for a few weeks, I’ll see if it works, and if it doesn’t work, I’ve only wasted $200.”
This is terrible.
The main problem you’ve got is you’ve realized that for you to succeed running a network marketing business or an affiliate marketing program, or whatever you’re doing, it’s as difficult as a person running a brick and mortar business.
Imagine if you were running your own restaurant, or imagine if you were running your own landscaping business. Imagine the work that would require.
If you’re going to do something like network marketing, or affiliate marketing, the start up cost could be low, or it could be a bit more, I prefer to be in opportunities where it costs more than $200, because it’s a lot more lucrative. But, even if that start up cost is low, that doesn’t mean it’s going to be easy.
Just because they tell you at all these events that this is a lot easier than running a proper business because it’s all done for you, and you’re leveraging a system, that is true – it gives you a bit of a short cut.
That doesn’t mean it’s easy. It’s more competitive, because you’ve got lots of other people trying to do the same thing. It’s still a business. Nothing is easy.
Nothing worthwhile in life is easy.
What I’ll say to you is, don’t go into this business with the wrong expectation levels.
Don’t go into it and think this this is just going to be an exercise for the next few months, because it’s not.
If you were starting a shop in your local town, or you were starting a brick and mortar business, it wouldn’t be a 3 month exercise. It wouldn’t be a 5 month exercise. It would be 3 – 5 years.
Now, is it true that you can succeed in less than that? Absolutely yes, and I’ve done it. I’ve done it in less than two years to become successful and get results.
However, I never went into it with the mentality that I would just try this for a few weeks or months and then throw in the towel.
That’s such a bad attitude to have. I realize people have this mentality. The reason why is human beings crave instant gratification. They just do, that’s just how human beings are wired, especially in today’s society with how fast paced it is.
You really need to know better if you’re going to be a business owner.
It’s not going to be a few weeks, it’s not going to be a few months, it’s going to be a year, or two years, or if you really it the ground running, it could be 6 or 8 months, but the point is, you’re going to have to treat this as if you’re running a restaurant, or you’re running a brick and mortar business.
You’re building an empire here.
This isn’t just some kind of hobby you’re doing for a couple of weeks. The students of mine and the team members of mine that do well, they realize this.
They realize that it’s not some three week exercise.
The ones that doesn’t do well are kind of here today, gone tomorrow, and they’re on to the next shiny object, and then the next shiny object.
If you want to succeed, have the right expectations for this business model. It’s an fantastic business model, and it will give you a bit of a short cut. But it isn’t a magic button, it isn’t a three week exercise.
I hope this has helped you guys.
