Hi guys, this is Nick Pratt, welcome to another episode of Nick Pratt TV.

time managementIn this episode, coming to you from my office again, I’m going to talk about what you do if you feel like you don’t have enough time to run your home business, and how you can really rethink this.

What do you do if you feel like you don’t have enough time to run your business? Well, the number one thing you have to remember is that we all have the same amount of hours each day. I have 24 hours, you have 24 hours, everyone else has 24 hours.

Your fate within this industry will be based on how you manage your time. Now, to start, you’re going to have to make sacrifices. It could be that you’re in a full time job, it could be that you’ve got your family, and obviously it takes your time. You will have to sacrifice certain things.

It could be, on a Tuesday evening, at 9:00 PM instead of watching your favourite TV show, you’re actually using that time to build your business.

It could be that you’ve got say, one hour per day, or one hour per week to build your business, and it has to be done sometime like when you’re usually doing your hobby, watching TV or relaxing. That’s just how it is.

Not everyone can succeed, and your chance of success will be measured by how you can manage your time, and also by you giving some things up, for a short while. At least in the beginning.

The most important thing I would say is it’s all about prioritizing, and it’s about finding ways of being efficient in your downtime.

For example, lets say you’re travelling in your car each day to work. Finding a way for you to do things in your car, instead of listening to music, listening to some kind of training, like audio training. Some kind of personal development training. That is an important way you can leverage your down time.

It also means, if we’re talking about personal development tricks, it could be that if you’re at something like an airport, and your waiting for your flight to leave, you’ve got everyone else who is just twiddling their thumbs and not really doing anything useful or productive, it could be that you’re the person reading a book.

I find that many, many times that I’m basically waiting for a flight, and everyone else is just waiting there with a glum look on their face, and I’m the only one trying to utilize my time.

There’s an example of how you can use your downtime.

You’ve just got to be smarter.

You’re going to have to do these things in the beginning. Later on, once you’ve got some residuals, or early on if you can afford it, you want to really look at ways of outsourcing things.

Once you get good at a process, you can then teach that process to someone else, and you can leverage what you’re doing. That’s a fantastic idea.

Now you might not be able to do that straight away, but after a short while, once you’ve got this down yourself, you will be able to do that.

What you’ve got to understand is I have lots of people who help me with my business. I have a woman who helps with my social media, I’ve got people who help me with writing articles, I’ve got people who help me with admin, I’ve had two personal assistants in the past six months who have both helped me with different things.

I absolutely do this, I know how to get the most out of my time, and also, through outsourcing. Definitely consider that for the future.

If you’re just getting started, remember the basics. You want to protect your time, you want to find a way of leveraging your downtime, you want to find some way of leveraging your downtime.

You’ve just got to be smart about it guys, that’s all I’ll say.

The more advanced thing in the future is to outsource, which I absolutely recommend.
