In this episode, I’m going to talk about how to work smarter, not harder. This applies if you’re in network marketing, affiliate marketing, any kind of business really. I discuss how to leverage your time effectively and work smarter, not harder.

I’m doing this video to delve into this topic of working smarter, not harder because I see a lot of people out there, and they’re trying to grow their business, whether it’s network marketing, affiliate marketing, whatever it is, and they constantly have to work harder, but they’re not necessarily doing better. They may earn a bit more money, but more of their time is being taken away. The whole point is that you’re in this business to eventually get freedom, and you don’t want to feel as if you’re on the hamster wheel all the time.

work-smarter-not-harder-image-post-2I’m going to give you some tip on this. First of all, to frame this, one example of not working smarter is obviously the corporate world. What people tend to do is work harder and move up the ladder, and they get higher pay, but they’re always at the office, especially because they might be at a higher position. That is the opposite of what we are talking about. This is why it’s so good to build your own business, because if you work in the corporate world, you move up the ladder, but they obviously work you a lot harder, and you see your family less, and the money is really useless because your time is constantly being spent at the office.

Obviously, by deciding to run your own business, that in itself has leverage attached to it, because you’re essentially trying to find a way to create freedom. However, it often falls down because what people tend to do is become “self-employed,” they work for themselves, but then they work for themselves, but as the tasks start piling up, they try and do everything themselves, and all they really have at the end of it is a job, and it may or may not pay well.

What you need to do is to find a way of leveraging other peoples money, and other peoples time, but mainly, other peoples efforts. How do you do that?

One of the great ways of doing that is to get involved in network marketing, MLM, top tier, and affiliate program, whatever. You are leveraging a system, and you’re leveraging an existing business. That’s one way.

The second way is obviously to do it all yourself. I don’t recommend doing that, because the way you build it up is to hire other people. You have to go out and hire staff so you can leverage their time, and you can leverage your own time by paying them to use their time.

The shortcut to that is doing something like home business. You’re obviously leveraging your system, and you may pay a few people as well.

If you’ve got started in something like network marketing, top tier, or an affiliate program, that’s a smart move, because you are leveraging other peoples efforts, and that’s what business is all about. You’re not trying to do it all yourself, you’re building a team, and then you are helping them succeed, which in turn helps you succeed.

Finally, I want to talk about content marketing. This is a fantastic way of working smarter, not harder. The point is when you produce content, like I am now, this content has leverage attached to it, because it will exist on the internet. First of all, I’m providing value, but this content will carry on existing after it’s published, getting me traffic leads and sales for years to come. Content marketing is a very powerful way of gaining leverage and working smarter, not harder.

I actually did a video on content marketing recently, which you can check out by clicking here.

I recommend you watch that so you can come to grips with content marketing, and how to get started with it. Producing valuable blog posts, videos and emails are very powerful.
