Welcome to another episode of Driving With Nick Pratt, in this episode I am going to be giving you three specific tips on MLM Attrition, which is people quitting your MLM business, your network marketing business, what to do when this happens, and how to deal with it. I am sure this is something you can relate to and get plenty of value from.

MLM Attrition, also known as people quitting MLM opportunities, happens all the time. You’re trying to grow a team and your downline, and you’ve got people quitting left right and center. The first thing I want to say before launching into the three tips is that it’s perfectly normal. It’s human nature because people just quit things. It could be that it’s not right for them, it could be that they’ve changed their minds, but people start things and then leave it unfinished all the time. That’s just how things go in life.

MLM AttritionI often use the example of I play the piano, I’ve been playing the piano for over 15 years, and I often use this example because if 100 people said they were going to learn how to play the piano, how many of them actually would? It would probably be 2% of less because it’s challenging to learn a musical instrument.

Just understand that it’s human nature. That’s why I want to give you 3 specific tips on what to do when someone quits the business fairly early on.

Tip 1: Evaluate

Evaluate if you gave them the proper welcome on board, if you made them feel like part of the team, and if they joined with the correct expectations that you laid out for them. A lot of people get involved in networking marketing business or a top tier and they don’t have the correct expectations.

Evaluate what you did, and if it was in line with what’s right for them. It doesn’t mean that you have necessarily done anything wrong, but we always need to tweak these things and understand that.

Tip 2: Keep On Going With Sales

In this industry, they make all these implications about how your downline is just going to explode, but the fact of the matter is that it doesn’t always go like that. You have to keep bringing people in. Only a small percentage of people will stick around and actually duplicate your sales. You have to focus on continuing to build the business and building like a leader. That’s very important.

Tip 3: Look At The Positive

I know this may sound a bit strange because what positive is there with someone leaving your opportunity? There is kind of a positive, because of all the other team members who haven’t quit, it’s a testament to them that they are then carrying on with the course and staying strong. It shows that they are part of the minority who are more likely to succeed because they are carrying on.

Hopefully those three tips are able to help you.

Just to give a story about this, I had a guy join (I am pretty sure I mentioned this in a video recently), and he quit the very same he joined. I asked him about this, and said “Why did you quit? I gave you all this support, we gave you the training program and got you in touch with your coach.” He didn’t really have any good reason, it’s just that he was chasing shiny objects, and wasn’t committed. He went a joined another opportunity, and when I followed up with him to ask how that was going, he had quit that one as well. Some people will just jump from opportunity to opportunity and never really stick with anything. Hopefully that gives you some comfort.

It’s important to get the right kind of people on board, and I always say get business builders on board. Get people who are sold on the idea of Network Marketing and are in the market for a business opportunity.
