Hi Guys, this is Nick Pratt, welcome to another episode of Nick Pratt TV. In this episode, I am going to be talking about the danger of Shiny Object Syndrome, specifically in home business, and why you should avoid it like the plague.
Let’s talk about this thing called Shiny Object Syndrome. Within business and in life in general.
So what is Shiny Object Syndrome? It’s this thing human beings do, which is where they start something and really push at it for a few weeks or months, and then they just see this shiny object in the corner of their eye, and they run for it, because whatever they are working on isn’t giving them results quick enough, or they’re bored.
This doesn’t just take place in home business, but it takes place in all areas of life. People will start something like a musical instrument, a workout program, and they’ll go really strong for a few weeks or months, and then they’ll move on to something else.
You see this a lot with New Years Resolution.
If you look at people in February, they’ve kind of given up from what they started at the beginning of the year.
In home business, this refers to people who start one business opportunity, and a few months alter they add another one on, then another one. They probably quit their original one, and they never really stick with anything.
What I am going to say to you is that I am not perfect by any means, but one of my strengths is that I focus like a laser beam on specific things that I am doing. I have been with my current business opportunity or a year and a half, and I’ve become a 6-figure earner with it and I am actually going to Fiji for my company event where I am being presented with the 6-Figure Ring. I am also going on the leaders cruise in December to Mexico.
The point is, it’s because I stuck with it.
What I suggest to you is don’t be like those other people who are in a business opportunity for a month and then it’s not going quick enough so they jump on to another one.
What they a really doing is thinking that their failure or lack of results is down to the business opportunity. In reality, it’s down to them. Your success within any opportunity is down to you. It’s down to your ability to market, generate leads, and convert those leads.
You’ve got to generate enough leads each week and be converting them. It’s not really about the compensation plan or anything like that. Those things come into play, but a lot of the time people aren’t getting results because of something they’re doing – or not doing.
What I suggest is don’t fall into the trap of joining a different opportunity each week or month, because they never see any success.
I hope this motivates you to stick with what you’re doing.
