In the latest episode I discuss how many traffic or marketing methods you need to be using to grow your home business using the Internet.
I explain why most newbies make the fatal mistake of trying too many methods out of the gate which can lead to overwhelm and frustration.
In the video, I also mention a recommended resource for getting traffic training. And you can see that here as well.
Enjoy and please share and comment!
In this episode, I’m going to be talking about how many traffic methods should you have, and how many marketing methods should you have to succeed.
This is something I get asked a lot.
The short answer is, when you’re starting out, you absolutely just need to keep a narrow focus. Focus on one single marketing strategy. You’ll find a lot of leaders who give training that say focus on one marketing strategy for 90 days, or at least a long enough time for it to show results before moving on to another traffic strategy. I absolutely agree with this, and I’ll tell you why.
I see a lot of newbies coming into this industry, and I’ve noticed that the number one mistake made by newbies in network marketing, affiliate marketing, internet marketing is that they get online and someone tells them that it’s important to have a blog, so they start blogging. What will typically happen is there will be a big product launch for something new, and for the new marketer, you think to yourself that maybe that traffic strategy is the secret. Maybe that is what’s going to give me success, because I’ve been blogging for a couple of weeks, and I’ve hardly got 5 visitors to my site, so maybe I need to switch.
That’s the problem, because they switch. I’ve done this in the past, and most people have done this in the past. They switch to the new strategy, do that for a few weeks, and then they try something else.
There are a lot of distractions to go into different directions.
If you’re getting started building a business online, or you’re doing network marketing online, my biggest tip for you is to avoid being part of the 98% that fail. Stick to one marketing strategy, don’t fall into the patter on chasing one shiny object then another, then another, and constantly switching to a new marketing method.
There are so many things out there, PPV Pop Ups, Bing and Facebook advertising, Instagram, YouTube, Pay Per Click, blogging. There are so many traffic sources out there, and you don’t have time to do them all. You have to focus on one specific traffic method. You need to get that to something like 20-30 leads per day or you’re efficient at it, you’re good at it, and you’re getting results.
You need to become good with one of those methods because as a newbie, you just have got to develop skills one at a time. You can’t just go out there and try and consume everything.
That’s the best advice I’ve got for you guys.
One question you might be asking is how do I learn various traffic methods.
What I’ll do is leave a link to some training for that, and that’s nickpratt.tv/traffictraining
Feel free to visit that if you need some help with learning different traffic methods.
Just to sum up, my best advice is if you don’t want to be like everyone else who doesn’t make it, focus like a laser beam on one marketing strategy, and one traffic method.
It requires a lot of mental focus to just concentrate on that one for a decent period of time. A 90 day blast is normally a fantastic idea, because to be honest, if you start with a traffic methods, it won’t get you results within 2-3 weeks, probably. It can get you some results, but not huge results. It takes a good 90 day blast, and it takes a lot of consistent hard work.
